Just received my copy of THE WIDOWS OF WINDING GALE by Kealan Patrick Burke! Truly love the Earthling Halloween Series and this looks like another winner. Also extremely happy to have received this before Halloween!

I am really struggling with this one. I am thrilled with a new Burke story, but I know I will not be able to comfortably read it as they publish on bright white paper. Have not ordered at this point as I know it would just be an addition to my Burke collection on the shelf, but the retail is reasonable, so I am waffling! I think I am going to try my blue lenses, which help with computer screens, on a bright white book tonight.
I have a soft spot for Glenn's work. I have a family portrait from him hanging on my wall and he is a very nice person to deal with. I 100% understand your point as artwork is subjective from person to person and this art seems a little haphazard.
I bought one as well (in spite of Chadbourne's art, I have to say). Great to see KPB get the deluxe treatment again, and this one sounds like a winner.

Same. Very pleased to see KPB getting the limited treatment again...other than Suntup, it feels like it's been a while, and I can't think of many small-press authors who deserve it more.
New Kealan Patrick Burke? Heck, yeah, I'm in! Very much looking forward to this one, especially since KPB is drawing some inspiration from Carpenter and The Fog. This is a surefire buy for me.
Latest book in the Halloween series announced. Hopefully I can be online and snag a copy. I love KBP.
I'm thrilled to announced that our 20th annual Halloween Series title is THE WIDOWS OF WINDING GALE by Kealan Patrick Burke!
With an introduction by Nathan Ballingrud and artwork by Glenn Chadbourne.
Kealan's dedication at the start of the book is the following, which gives you a sense of the tone of the story: "For John Carpenter and the folks at KAB radio, Antonio Bay." That's all I say about it for now
As with all titles in this series, there will be 500 numbered copies ($55). Matching numbers to last year's novel are offered, and it's targeted to be published first half of October.
Preorders will go live at Noon EST Monday May 19. Mark your calendars -- as you likely know, the majority of Halloween titles, especially the last many years, have sold out and now go for more than cover price on the secondary market -- don't miss out on this thoroughly enjoyable horror novel from one of our best!
