Random thoughts...

Completely random - but after a little over five and a half years, I'm starting a new job tomorrow (assuming my work laptop arrives earlier that FedEx's estimate of "before 8pm".

Some of you may actually remembering me moving from Washington to Colorado in March of 2019 for this job. Well, an opportunity presented itself that I couldn't say no to. It was a hard decision, especially since I was walking away from a year-end bonus of about $10k. Yes, I was getting a small salary increase, but this opportunity would give me more opportunity to expand my knowledge and training, plus allow me to focus on what I enjoyed about my last/current job without all of the bureaucracy.

At least this job doesn't require me to move - it's 100% remote.

So yay me I guess.

Really? Must be for that new omnibus of his short fiction…definitely looking forward to that one myself.

Have a good time. I need to get myself down there for one of their signings, but I haven't seen anyone stopping there in the last couple of months, since I've been in the area, that caught my interest. Jason Rekulak was the really the only one, and he was only doing one of their remote interviews, not in-person. I also need to get down to one of their Hardboiled Discussion groups one of these days as well...the next two are on Richard Stark and Charles Williams books, which I would've normally been all over if my schedule allowed. Cool store.

Going to the Poisoned Pen Bookstore tonight to see Richard Chizmar do a discussion/signing for his new book Memorials. Very much looking forward to this. May have to bring my copy of Boogeyman to see if he'll personalize as well.

Just noticed on the Poisoned Pen Bookstore website that Richard Chizmar is doing a discussion/signing for his new book Memorials on October 24th. Will have to try to swing by for that event since the bookstore is in my neck of the woods.

Congrats! I'm trying to do the same thing but it's definitely hard. Beyond my Thunderstorm purchases, I've been pretty good lately. I was very proud that I was able to pass on the Suntup Swan Song (and even happier it has sold out to take the option away)!

As someone with an evolving budget, and who is limiting collecting, this journey started out painful. Now I am surprised that my FOMO is almost non-existent these days with each new release that I walkaway from.

I had the exact same thought when I got the latest Chizmar spam today. It really is becoming unbearable.

The products being offered haven't interested me in many years. Plus I have a few personal opinions which shall be kept to myself.

Small press book publishers should be publishing books, be supportive of other small press publishers, and practice top notch customer care. It's the only model that brings about sustainability.

Without wanting to get into a bashing session, any particular reason why? I haven't made a mailing list purchase in quite a while, but I still like to see them, just in case.

Nice!  Mine is still stuck in pre-shipping notice limbo since the 23rd.

Finally got some movement.  Showing that mine was picked up by USPS this morning and should arrive next Tuesday.
