Just saw the SubPress newsletter. Man, that upcoming pre-order for Jeff Vandermeer's Absolution looks sweet but the price sure does suck! With tax and shipping, it's going to be over 200 for the LE. Not sure if I'm going to pull the trigger or not. Also wish SubPress had done the Southern Reach Trilogy instead of CD for the matching set (and because CD's version was such a letdown). Hopefully, I can stay strong and my FOMO won't kick-in!

Just saw the SubPress newsletter this morning. Boy am I glad that I don't collect Fonda Lee's "Jade" series of books. The pre-order for the LE of the latest book in the series is $275. To me, considering the overall print run, that it doesn't include a slipcase, and the production values being offered, that's flat out ridiculous. I could buy two Suntup AGE books for that same price and the production values of any one of those AGE books tops what's being offered by SubPress for any of their Jade books not to mention that it would also include a slipcase. I know prices have gone up in the collecting world recently but this one feels like a money grab to me. That being said, I'm sure that the book will sell out for SubPress and that others who collect the series will be happy to have it.Last edited by sholloman81; Yesterday, 05:41 PM.

SubPress has definitely been creeping up in costs lately. SST is still the most bang for my buck of the books I've bought.
One great thing about SubPress for me has been the last few books I've ordered were already in stock at the time of the annoucement - no waiting months (years? decades?) for a book.
However, I have begun rethinking some of the authors I've been buying - do I really need those signed editions for some of this stuff?
