Anyone grab one of the March pre-orders? They all look pretty interesting to me. Not sure which I will grab yet!

If anyone needs it I ended up with an extra copy of Devil's Pocketbook by Ross Jeffrey. Just send me a good offer.

McBride is his real name, Laurence is the pseudonym. I interviewed him a while back for the WFR NEP feature.Originally posted by brlesh View Post
He hasn’t had a small press LE in 4 or 5 years, but he’s publishing pretty regularly.
According to his website, it was about this time that he quit his day job and started writing full time.
His Unit 51 trilogy was published as first editions mass market PB.
Then he published the Elimination Protocol trilogy, a first edition hardcover series under the name Michael Laurence, which I believe is his real name (I think McBride is a pseudonym).

On the Michael McBride front, his latest novel Spores was self published at the end of January in both hardcover and trade paperback formats.Originally posted by brlesh View Post

Then he started self-publishing, first the stand alone novel Chimera, then another post-apocalyptic trilogy, The Ruination series.
He has another novel listed as upcoming on his webpage: Spores.
Don’t know if this is a stand alone or part of a series.
He had a couple of projects with CD listed on his website, but that was a couple of years ago, and doubt those will ever happen.
He used to publish pretty regularly with Delirium / Darkfuse (now defunct) and Thunderstorm Books, but it’s been at least 5 years since his last TB publication.

I passed on the Keene book as I don't really collect his stuff except for the occasional one-off here and there. Since it's part of a series, it was an easy pass for me. I did pick-up the other two as they each sounded very intriguing to me.Originally posted by Sock Monkey View PostNothing for me this month. Thank God. February might just be a month of financially recuperating from January. Two of the titles I might consider picking up on the aftermarket down the road if reviews are good. Thoughts by anyone else? Getting some, all, or none?

Thanks for the info! Good to hear that he's still publishing. I've also marked those titles listed to track down on one of my infrequent paperback hauls. Hopefully in one sooner than later.Originally posted by brlesh View Post

Congratulations, that's a pretty nice feat. Is McBride still publishing books? He seems to have been absent from the small press world as of late. I haven't read much of his work, but I liked what I did.

God’s End is a great trilogy, criminally underrated IMO, as is Michael McBride as an author.Originally posted by Splync View PostI managed to put together a matching set of Michael McBride's God's End trilogy. One book from an eBay seller in NC, two from a seller in CA. All three are Josh Boone's PC copies.
Pretty cool feeling to find all three!
If you like the God’s End trilogy you should check out his Unit 51 trilogy, which I thought was even better.

Yeah, $40 for a Thunderstorm book is a pretty safe bet. Even if you don't wind up loving the book, it was a relatively low investment.Originally posted by sholloman81 View Post
Yes, just happened to randomly be on Ebay and noticed it. The price was smoking; so, I decided to take a chance that I wouldn't get burned and it worked out great.

Thanks! Have no idea what to expect when it comes to his prose, but I have ready a few of his newsletters, and all of his regionalisms remind me a bit of Joe Lansdale.Originally posted by Ben Staad View PostCool. Personally I like his writing a lot. Hope you enjoy it.
I'm fairly certain Ron is an author your either going to really like or really hate. He has a style that is a little hokey (sp?) but sits well with me.

Did you pick this up on eBay? If so, I think we were looking at the same listing. It's a smoking price and I'm glad you got it!
