I gave my signed 1st HC to jeffingoff a while back, so even though the price will undoubtedly be more than I'd prefer to pay, I need to get a copy of this to replace that hole in my McCammon collection. As the first (I think....isn't it?) McCammon from Earthling and with all the nice bells and whistles of this edition line, it should really be a nice addition to the shelf if I'm able to snag a copy.

And with your last line you have made me rethink my stance. The question has now become not if I can afford the Earthling edition but rather, can I afford not to have it?Originally posted by RonClinton View Post

I went for it, and snagged my copy at 9:01.Originally posted by Sock Monkey View PostMine is up for sale. $375...I don't know...I need to decide quickly, though...
A few minutes later, Paul sends an email announcing only a few dozen copies are up for sale this morning, so I'm glad I was quick on the trigger. The price was beyond my comfort zone, but a special book requires a special exception.Twitter: https://twitter.com/ron_clinton

I was on the website right at 9 AM as well, but cooler heads have prevailed. Though this book promises to be amazing in its design, the price tag is on the far end of my budget and I have no specific attachment to the title--beyond loving McCammon--to justify spending this amount on it. I might regret this decision in the future, but we can't have it all.

I was very close to pulling the trigger on Earthling's Mine but knowing that there will be a version in the new Lividian McCammon set (along with the cost of the Earthling version) ultimately let me to pass on it. I'm sure it will be very cool for those who opted for it. (couldn't post this until Lividian's announcement today)

This partly played into my decision as well. I'm still not sure about the LIvidian series, but knowing I could get a well-crafted edition of Mine down the road if I so desired did take a bit of the sting out of having to pass on the Earthling's edition.Originally posted by sholloman81 View PostI was very close to pulling the trigger on Earthling's Mine but knowing that there will be a version in the new Lividian McCammon set (along with the cost of the Earthling version) ultimately let me to pass on it.
