Interestingly enough I really enjoyed 7 of the movies on that list. So you your list doesn't really prove a point to me. That said I do agree that just because you can doesn't mean you should, but I do feel that with a movie like a Superman movie, you should, pretty much no matter what. It's a movie about a man that has super human powers, using conventional special effects it'd look even worse and cheapen the overall experience. Again though I think the whole CGI thing is really a generational thing, just like the whole hating the Star Wars prequels is.
Edit: That said what makes most of those movies "bad" per say isn't just the CGI, that's the least of those movies problems.
Out of morbid curiosity Dan, what were the 7 films from my list that you really enjoyed?

Just to be clear that me enjoying the movie doesn't mean I think it was a good movie. It's easier to list the ones I didn't like, which where King Kong, Hulk and Scooby Doo. That said I never actually saw Scooby Doo or Hulk.
Transformers is a good example of this, these movies where not good movies, but I did enjoy watching them. They where full of bad acting, plot holes, and bad comedic relief, but they where movies that where fun to watch and I will watch the next one they are supposedly making when it comes out.
That is a great clip!
My friend sent it to me earlier today with the subject line "Prep for Carrie". I guess I'm not the only one who's wanting to see it.
Cell was too far out there for me and I had to force myself to read it, so I'm not feeling it as a movie either. I'd like to see Insomnia put to film. I can picture the little doctors with their scissors and Ralph seeing life auras attached by strings all around him and hearing the constant ticking of the deathwatch. . .

I loved Cell and couldn't finish Insomnia. I am still having trouble picturing John Cusack and am not having trouble with Jackson as well. But if it's done right then im sure it will be great. Excited either way. Wish it was sooner...
