I love extravagant books and all, but, man, kinda feeling like we need the pendulum to swing back a little to some more reasonably priced editions.
Yes, I've never read anything by her that I know of, but $40 for 800+ pages is a heckuva deal.

I bought the Sheckley book too (Mindswap) and it was a good read. I probably read it back in the '80s or early '90s, and I didn't remember a thing about it. I can see why some people wouldn't like it, but I found it a fun piece of social commentary.

Nice to hear a positive review for the new Sheckley. My enthusiasm dampened a little when I start seeing some so-so reviews about it.

I read a lot of his short stories back in the day, and I always liked his sense of humor.

This pic shows a box of books that were packed up in 1989 and left unopened at my parents' house until 2019, when I found it again.

I took a few of them home with me, including the Sheckley Omnibus, but most went to the local charity store - they weigh too much to bring back to the US these days.
