As much as I love the idea of a uniform set, I will most likely just purchase the Lividian books on a case-by-case basis or to fill the few holes in my collection. For example, one of the few McCammon books that I didn't have as an LE was Baal; so, I'm very happy to have picked this one up. I also don't have an LE copy of Mine; so, I will be happy to grab that one up the road when it is offered. Was also very happy to replace the River City edition of Speaks the Nightbird with a Lividian LE as the binding in the River City edition is horrible. So, overall, while not the perfect set to be announced for me as a collector, I am very happy to grab these individual titles and may be swayed by others as I see them and the production standards once I have that first book, Baal, in-hand.
That case-by-case pick-up might be the route for me as well. Sub Press's editions of The Wolf's Hour and The Hunter from the Woods are both hard to come by and very expensive when they do come up for sale, so these could be on my list to pick up. I did remember I had some lingering store credit, so I decided to pick up the slipcased Baal through CD. This way I kill the credit while also getting the chance to see how I like the production with almost zero risk. If I decide this isn't my thing, I can always offload the title on the secondary market. If I fall in love, then I've got the first book already in hand.

I think it’s a fantastic project and I’m thrilled both that McCammon is getting the honor his work deserves and that others will have the chance to either complete a full collection of his work or fill gaps in it. For me, I have either a signed deluxe limited or a signed trade 1st HC (e.g. the Kinnell UK HCs of several very early titles) of every book he’s written, save for MINE…and I just pre-ordered the Earthling edition. So while this set is inherently not for me, it will be for many others and I wish Brian every bit of success with it.

This is a great project! So happy to see a non-slipcased option for a pretty sane price. Especially as these are not signed- I very much appreciate the thought that went into offering a more affordable option. I'm generally over slipcases these days. Both for the added cost and the additional (dwindling) shelf space. I mean, if the book has a DJ- it's already protected. I know, they look cool (especially Lividian's). Bill Schafer once told me... sheesh- decades ago now- that he had come to hate slipcases (this was probably after I complained about him starting to drop them from his "regular" books), that their usefulness was really only a good place for bugs to hide. Still makes me laugh. I didn't agree with him then, but I've been coming around...
