Just received the email from SST for the optional slipcase for The Beast You Are. Definitely a pass for me as slipcase prices have gotten too outrageous for my blood. For example, after conversion, the price of the LE for The Beast You Are was $60. The price for the optional slipcase is around $53, practically as much as the book itself! While I do love slipcases, my sweet spot is around a quarter of the book's price, give or take. Because of that, I can only see myself purchasing SST slipcases for very special occasions/books. That being said, I do love that Paul (mostly) makes slipcases optional for his LE books rather than automatically folding the cost into the overall book price as it allows shoppers on a budget to more easily afford his LEs. Also, this slipcase issue pertains to all small presses, not just SST. Their email this morning just placed the issue top of mind for me.

I like the option as well. It gives me a chance to purchase a book once in awhile.

I can't afford it, will not be a buyer, but sure wish I could. Missing out on this one stings a bit.
It's not one of his better novels, but I'm still excited to see what they do with it.

I understand. I like the style he writes in but the content, of what I've read, was political and lecturing. This comment is in regards to his book Survivor Song.
