Believe it was sent to those who purchased the author's previous title and will be announced to their newsletter subscribers next week. I'm on the fence as I've seen mixed reviews for the book, but it's from an author whom I almost always enjoy. I'll most likely grab a copy but maybe not right away.
I got it to keep my number but it's a bit of a mixed bag IMO.

Just received the email from SST for the optional slipcase for The Beast You Are. Definitely a pass for me as slipcase prices have gotten too outrageous for my blood. For example, after conversion, the price of the LE for The Beast You Are was $60. The price for the optional slipcase is around $53, practically as much as the book itself! While I do love slipcases, my sweet spot is around a quarter of the book's price, give or take. Because of that, I can only see myself purchasing SST slipcases for very special occasions/books. That being said, I do love that Paul (mostly) makes slipcases optional for his LE books rather than automatically folding the cost into the overall book price as it allows shoppers on a budget to more easily afford his LEs. Also, this slipcase issue pertains to all small presses, not just SST. Their email this morning just placed the issue top of mind for me.

I like the option as well. It gives me a chance to purchase a book once in awhile.

Just received the shipping notice for The Beast You Are. Can't wait to see this production by SST! Hopefully, I will enjoy the actual book as I haven't read it previously and it seems pretty divisive on Goodreads.

Though I'm a big Tremblay fan, I skipped this one...a novella-length prose poem is just not for me. Unfortunately, it falls on the heels of his last novel, THE PALLBEARERS CLUB, which was a DNF for me. So, much like Grady Hendrix and Joe Hill, whose last works fell flat for me, I'm discouraged and a little gunshy of them all now, but still do remain hopeful for future works.

I'm done with Tremblay. THE PALLBEARERS CLUB was the most self-indulgent thing I've ever read, and I still can't believe anyone published it.

Sorry to be cryptic but I am stoked about the super secret release from SST.

I can't afford it, will not be a buyer, but sure wish I could. Missing out on this one stings a bit.

"stings a bit" is a great pun!

It's not one of his better novels, but I'm still excited to see what they do with it.

I have the Sub Press edition, so I'm skipping this one. Looks nice, though.

This is where I'm sitting right now. I do like the presentation of this edition, though, and if I didn't have the Sub Press, I would be all over it.

That was my thought as well, but I think this one might be an upgrade on the Sub Press edition.

I look forward to comparing them side-by-side.

Same. One nice edition of STINGER is enough, and my Sub Press edition is very nice indeed.

I was definitely tempted to buy the SST edition, but didn't give in!

I understand. I like the style he writes in but the content, of what I've read, was political and lecturing. This comment is in regards to his book Survivor Song.
