For those who didn't receive it, Paul announced that he'll be publishing Stephen Graham Jones's DON'T FEAR THE REAPER, the second book in his Indian Lake trilogy. This book will be limited to 500 copies. He has also decided to increase the previously announced (and sold out) print run of MY HEART IS A CHAINSAW from 400 to 500 copies to (a) match the print run of REAPER and (b) help battle the rise in paper costs by raising his print run therefore reducing his price per unit, in lieu of a raise in the price points of his books.
First, I applaud Paul's transparency as to why he is doing what he is doing. A simple email detailing this information supplants speculation with clarification and, at the very least, allows the customer to understand his thought process regardless if they agree or not.
Second, I don't have much issue with the change, but it is the second such change that the press has recently taken. Any more post-sell-out print run increases might give me pause. It's a dangerous precedent to set. One that I wouldn't like the industry to head towards.

I forgot I have a few of those. For this one I went through Camelot just so I didn't have to pay right now.

I have to pass on this because of the one-two punch of Lyra's and Night Circus. But it looks really interesting!
I initially thought that it was a novelization and not an actual new novel.
Did anybody here get the novelization or script back when Gauntlet did them? I picked it up in a sale at some point and was thrilled that it was signed by the one guy!
That's about as vague as I can be until the announcement is made public. But I'm sure those that pick this up will be thrilled!

I jumped on this as well. Think it will be a good title and, like you, hope they don't up the print run.
Originally posted by sholloman81 View PostI was really happy to see the advance pre-order notice email from SST this morning. I like that they shoot these out to the email subscribers before actually announcing the title. I grabbed a copy right away as I suspect this one will sell out quickly. If so, I really hope SST doesn't up the print run after the fact as they chose to do with Demon Theory.
