Haven't read this book yet; so, I can't speak to this particular story, but in general, I enjoy the author's style/voice; however, you want to put it. He's kind of evolved into his own genre, a bit like Lansdale. You could read a book without knowing the author/title and know if it's by SGJ. I also like how his stuff has a literary feel to it but doesn't feel highfalutin. His story plots are usually pretty fun and show a love on the genre and its' fans. You can tell SGJ would never apologize for being a horror author. Overall, his stuff just seems to work for me.

What in particular do you enjoy in this book? His writing style, story, or is it personal to you in some way?

I know not everyone on the forum enjoys his stuff, but I am a big fan and very excited for this book. Glad I held off picking up a trade copy before this as I don't have the space for dupe books any longer.

I was thinking this, too. Could also be Bentley Little, but Stephen Graham Jones seems more likely because sholloman mentions not wanting an optional slipcase if offered and, if I remember correctly, he mentioned buying slipcases for his other Stephen Graham Jones books.

Nope, not Hendrix, Malerman, Lansdale, or Chizmar. One of the others.

Hmm... Well that only leaves a handful. I'll have to keep an eye out for the regular newsletter.Originally posted by sholloman81 View Post
It's actually one of the other authors that they have done multiple books for already. Sorry to be vague. Think the email said that newsletter subscribers will have the next stab at pre-order this upcoming Sunday 10/20/24.ÂÂÂ Once cool to post the author/book, I will do so.

I presume that it's a Malerman title? I didn't buy the last two, which would explain why I didn't get an advance notice.

May only have been offered to people who purchased the author's last book. Was wondering if they were going to do this title and have held off picking up a trade hardcover; so, I was happy to see it being offered and picked-up a copy. Even though I want it, I do think I will pass on the optional slipcase as they are getting a bit too pricey for my blood when they are practically as much as the book itself.
