Received my "dinged" copy of The Stepford Wives and could not be happier with it. I flipped through it, and I have no idea as to why anyone would consider it dinged. I do not see any flaws on the slipcase or book itself, nor do I see any odd markings flipping quickly through the pages. It also does have the signature page. About the only thing I could come up with is that the book was not shrink-wrapped/had been opened at some point. Beyond that, this looks like a new copy to me. Very happy that I rolled this dice on this purchase!

Good to hear. Damn, I should have been braver on this one, would've loved to snag a STEPFORD WIVES on that sale, but (incorrectly) assumed it was missing its enclosure/slipcase since I thought I understood from the email that the books would be missing their enclosure unless it was specified otherwise....starting to think it was the other way around, that they had them unless otherwise indicated.Originally posted by sholloman81 View PostReceived my "dinged" copy of The Stepford Wives and could not be happier with it. Yeah, you had it backwards, unless noted, all of them included the slipcase. I totally get being hesitant. During a previous Suntup dinged sale, I picked-up the Island of Dr. Moreau, and it was in super rough shape, no slipcase, title page ripped three quarters of the way through, and a few other dings. I got rid of it almost immediately. That purchase gave me pause on this one, but I decided to roll the dice as I really love the art for this edition and have never ready the story before.Originally posted by RonClinton View Post

I'm really surprised Suntup sold your Dr. Moreau like that. Were any of those- more egregious than "dings", certainly - noted on the sale page? I'd have pause after that as well. I managed to pick up The Outsiders & Hannibal Rising AE's at bargain prices and they arrived in 2 days, in slipcases with no discernable defects whatsoever. I actually only went to the site after the reminder email that went out and there were quite a few titles and editions left to choose from. Made me wonder what I had missed by not checking it out when it went live.Originally posted by sholloman81 View Post

Some books including Stepford Wives were sold at a discount to clear inventory, I think. If there were no red-box warnings on the order page when you placed your order, it would be a regular copy at sale price.Originally posted by sholloman81 View PostReceived my "dinged" copy of The Stepford Wives and could not be happier with it. I ordered Stepford numbered, and after ordering the 'dinged' box appeared on the site. I emailed to ask, and my understanding is they sold New copies until inventory was exhausted, then sold the remaining damaged ones at the same price. I received my copy yesterday, and it's a true numbered without defects.
