Thanks Richard. It's a lot of grunt work, and I intend to grunt the whole time, but it's a learning experience and a way to serve the HWA.

yeah, i hear you. i've edited a few magazines and it's a lot of reading, a lot of bad writing, but it's always cool to find something exciting. knowing you're a part of the Stokers, an award that can really help somebody to emerge and gain some recognition as an author, that's pretty cool.

Exactly! Also, growing up with dreams of owning one of those little haunted houses myself one day, it's just cool to have a hand in it, albeit small.

Right now I'd be happy just to qualify for membership in HWA. One more published story ought to do the trick. I'm almost there!

Keep it going Randy! I'm working toward becoming an active member this year, but those pro-paying markets are scarce, and hard to get into.

My second WHC blog is up. I thought some of you might enjoy reading about how goofy I was when I met Robert McCammon http://www.cwlasart.com/?p=1201

                  Loved your story!
I've met Stephen King (well, almost....), but McCammon is still on my to-touch list...

How did you almost meet King Siep?

Well...meet....maybe that was a little exaggeration.
We did breathe the same air....

I did meet George Beahm though...

So cool Frik-I breathed the same air as King at a reading once, and McCammon is very touchable

Cool, Siep! I too am jealous of you (but I think you know that already--I'm one of those blasphemous persons who thinks TD was the best Bond!)

My dark little bit of magical realism, "Fireflies," is included in Polluto 9, just out. This is from Dog Horn Publishing, they do some wild stuff.
