Shinedown with Breaking Benjamin and Nothing More. All the bands were great tonight with Shinedown being exceptionally awesome as they usually are. Would highly recommend anyone to see them if that's your thing.

Pretty limited here in the Flyover States although a lot of acts do roll through town it seems. We have 3 pretty regular venues here in Wichita with something always going on. Good opportunities to see some up and coming bands. There's always KC, OKC, and Dallas if ya really want to get crazy! lol.

It's been way too long since I've been to a concert (aside from taking our daughter to London, Ontario to see Justin Beiber...LOL). The last one was probably Bon Jovi at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto around November 2000.

I used to go to lots of concerts, living across the border from Detroit - there are so many concert venues, and Toronto is only a 3.5 hr drive. I've seen Def Leppard (way way back - Adrenalize tour), Pink Floyd, U2 (both @ Pontiac Silverdome), Bon Jovi (2 other times in Detroit), Styx/REO (3 times together), bands like Poison, Foreigner, Tragically Hip (2 x), Barenaked Ladies. All of these in metro Detroit. Plus, we have a fairly new arena here that seats 6500 for hockey, and Caesar's Windsor (casino) that has a 5000 seat auditorium, so we get some pretty decent acts as well. Sadly....never saw Rush (yet).

I feel pretty fortunate to have Detroit so close for entertainment reasons (shopping too! Yay cheap gas!). With Detroit having pro sports teams in all 4 major N American sports (and I am not a fan of any. ), and all having their own venues, plus with other concert venues, the options are pretty much limitless - even with crossing the border, the farthest I would need to drive would be approx 45 minutes (although with traffic that can be longer). There are even downtown venues in Detroit where I don't even need to drive over. Just park my car here, and take the "Tunnel Bus" over and they drop you off within a short walking distance.

Nothing like their shows back in the late 80s/early 90s but one has to expect that going in but it's still bit of a let down. Maybe it's better to leave such things in the past and not attend a show 20 years later expecting the same result. But good that you got to see them since you haven't before. The main reason I went was because my brother-in-law hadn't ever seen 'em live either. Not a terrible show by any means though. I like some of Volbeat's stuff; never was really an Anthrax fan though.

I got the chance to finally see Def Leppard two summers ago (maybe one ? This turning 40 thing is hard to get a handle on.) First time seeing them and I couldn't pass up the chance (especially since it was free - I just had to take a buddy's wife - okay, that was weird.) It was the tour with KISS (who I had no interest in seeing, other than now I can say that I saw them.)

I thought Def Leppard was great - not bad for a bunch of old guys.

But to answer the question posed in the post's title - my last concert was Volbeat and Anthrax. Damn fine evening. Damn fine.

Def Lepperd has definitely lost a step or two. Telsa wasn't bad though.

This was the first tour since 1980 that I missed. They didn't come to my area and I could not afford a trip to NYC to see them. The last concert I attended was the last show I worked on Labor day weekend. Zac Brown band. Did not care for it at all. Working at Saratoga performing arts center every summer I do get my fill of concerts. The Def Leopard show up here had Tesla and Styx Styx should have been the headliners. They were great even without Dennis De young.

You really should get out more often Mike LOL! I knew I liked ya for a reason though. Great taste in music and books . I also checked out your LP post. Pretty sweet. I never got the chance to see Ozzy live but had all his CDs. All my music now is of the digital variety via that wonderful place in the sky; The Cloud.

Def Lepperd with Telsa and Foreigner. Foreigner actually put on the better show of the three but Def Lepperd had an awesome stage show back in their heyday.
