Today I had my last visit to the hand specialist. I have now reached "maximum medical improvement" and have been released back to work with no restrictions. Now I just have to find out if the position I had before is still available. If not, I'm screwed. Also trying to contact worker's comp, but geez, nobody's answering their phones today. What fun.

Has anyone else when reading Edward Lee wondered what kind of trama this guy went through.I am reading Haunter at The Threshold and this guy just gets sicker.Worse I can not stop reading his stuff. What does that say about me?

At first, but I stopped wondering because, after all, I'm reading it and enjoying it...

Well, I think I'm actually going to quit smoking, finally.

Congrats and good luck with that. My wife quite cold turkey 6 years ago, and doesn't regret it one bit.

Congrats, and good luck with it staying that way.

Good luck Xiabei. I also quit cold turkey 6 years ago this October and do not regret it one bit. I had a total of 1 or 2 cravings that I can remember despite smoking for 10 years, most of it a daily habit except when I was still in high school. I had actually planned on quitting 2 years earlier, but the very day I decided I was done smoking I was told that I was going to go to Iraq for a year. Decided that trying to quit while knowing I was somewhere that I had a possibility of being killed wasn't a good idea, lol.

I am pretty proud of myself for staying quit though, as just a few months after I quit I went through the hardest period of my life due to finding out I had some serious medical issues. I also realize I was lucky, as I am quite sure my body somehow may not have formed an addiction to the damn things, though when I think about it it's not as surprising as it probably should be as I also never got an addiction to alcohol either despite drinking very regularly for a period of time in the Army. Now I can't remember the last time I was drunk, and still have no finished by bottle of Grey Goose vodka that I have had for close to either 3 or 4 years now, lol.

I saw prices advertised at a gas station here in MN last night and became even more happy I was able to quit. $5.09 for a pack of Marlboros and $5.29 for Camels (Or maybe it was the other way around)! There is no way I could afford those prices, especially combined with buying books from Cemetery Dance, lol.

But again, good luck with quitting, hope you are lucky enough to not find it too difficult to stay quit

Spent yesterday stocking a local food pantry with the Boy Scouts. We collected over a ton of food literally. We had to weigh it all and we ended up with 2,457 lbs.We sorted it all and ended up with 1,956 lbs that could be used and 200lbs that might be useable as experation dates were just past. The rest was people cleaning out their cupboards and could not be used.Just the same it was a great day and when we got there the shelves were just about empty and when we left there was enough food to get the food pantry through the rest of the month and part of next month.
