The only downside to Savings Certificates is that I have read they cannot be used when a major release i.e. a Stephen King book is announced.

For me this kind of defeats the purpose of having Saving Certificates. As Stephen King books are by far the most expensive item sold by CD, a major Stephen King announcement would be precisely the time I would want to use them.

I can only hope that if CD offer Savings Certificates again, they change their current policy so that they can used whenever.

You should not have to worry about that. If I remember correctly they stated that they would not be running this one again. I give CD great credit for trying different things. sometimes they simply don't work out.

If you take into account the fact that with the savings certificate you could get lettered editions other publishers books cdcc membership erc membership and forum book deals it was well worth it. Even though you could not get a Stephen King book.I loved my savings certificate.
