YEAH! Tons of storage for my books and stuff. I should have done what Solow did years ago, and shlepped it down and donated them.
It looks like you're getting some snow, D. I know that you get it on a regular basis, but Thursday looks like a big one. You don't want to leave that winter wonderland though?
Dave, you're right, New Jersey has gotten ridiculous as far as the cost of living. People born and raised in New Jersey can't afford to retire here for the most part.
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

We've all been cooped up in the house since the snow started Wednesday night. My little guy had school yesterday, but today was a snow day. The storm has passed, leaving 12+ inches, but now we're getting the lake effect, which is supposed to be another 6-8inches by morning.
Yeah, too many books, lol. I'm hoping some of them will come in handy now...I've been going through my boxes and shelves trying to see what I can sell. My wife called me the other day as I was getting ready to order the new McCammon novel from Lividian, and informed me that she had been laid off. Lost her job on Monday, and after paying the bills for February, we are officially broke. (Needless to say, I did not click the order button on that book, lol!) She's the educated one, with the big job, so getting by on my income will be...a challenge. To make matters m,ore interesting, she had someone claiming unemployment benefits under her name last year, and although New York State told her it was straightened out...it wasn't straightened out, so she was denied benefits, which will probably take months to fix. Gotta love these fucking scammers, and the lazy state employees that didn't do their job to fix it. I'm sitting in my study now looking at my bookshelves and wondering "Why did I buy so many books????" I told her that we'll make a project of trying to sell some of my stuff...it should be an interesting year, lol.

Well, that sucks. We went through that when I got laid off in 2009, as the company went down the toilet along with everything else back then. My wife made around half my salary at the time, and I was out of work for 15 months. We got through it, though. Life goes on. At least there's a good job market at the moment, so hopefully your wife will find something soon.
