Tom said modern day, which i would assume meant the newer stuff. 1990 is 22 years ago as you said yourself. Thats a long time and one of, if not the most popular, SK book.

Then again, it's all relative ... the coffin box L/E of The Stand : Complete & Uncut had a ticket price for $90.00 back when it was released by Doubleday in 1990.

Look at what it goes for now, 22 years later

For a matching set $750 - 850 isn't that far off i guess, and for a non-matching one $650-750. The modern day S/L's just aren't going up in value as far as i can see!

Yeah, I'd want more than $600 too. I've seen the Lettered editions for sale but at a price under original cost, so I'm not sure that there's a great market for the SoD books right now.

I have this set and am in $600+ for the books and shipping so I would not sell them for $610. Of course I am not selling mine though.

that's not that bad actually. I can't afford it but considering the aftermarket on other books, even other anthologies its not bad at all.

It's been re-published on e-bay for $900. I guess that was the reserve.

If it were me it'd be set at $1000 and itd likely go over. not that i'd sell them. When I eventually get some worth anything they will be sold when I am ready to retire for as much as I can get for them, unless I end up with some brats, might leave them with them to do with as they please. Prob be worth more by then seeing as SK should be dead by then.

Pretty steep, although I have no idea what these should go for. My guess would be the seller was looking for something around 750-800 maybe.

My thoughts exactly, Mr. Woot. I have the Gift SOD1&2 anyway.

FWIW, I'd go with the Danse Macabre Mr Boone

I could do it right now, but I'm sure the undisclosed reserve is out of my range.
