Guess sweating and scrambling through PS's order process wasn't necessary this time around, after all. Wow, if even King can't sell out a 1000-copy limited (and, yes, I know the price was high and I know the art was divisive, etc.) on day of offering, you know the market's gotten pretty flat.
Am beyond surprised to see copies of both Firestarter & Leviathan still available. I think you may be correct about the market going flat at the moment. Hope all the small presses we love can survive until the next rebound.

I probably won't do a pre-order on it as I'm trying to stay away from those these days, but if HC copies still remain upon release, I'm likely going to have to grab Richard Christian Matheson's new novel (w/ Mick Garris), BOMBYX...been waiting for this rumored new novel for a good while.

I was surprised by the page count on this one. At 150 pages it will be a quick read.

Where do you guys order your PS books...? I have a longtime aversion to ordering from overseas (Lots of bad experiences with lost books), and the place that I have been ordering my PS books from seems to be non-viable, at least for the time being. Amazon has been a good source for trade hardcovers and paperbacks, as long as you're not particular about stickers and dings, but I'm wondering about your experiences ordering directly from PS and having them shipped stateside...any good or bad experiences to share?

I've ordered direct two or three times and had zero issues. If I remember correctly there isn't much (if any) tracking information but I hadn't any significant delays/problems. My only problem is the darn value of our dollar.

Thanks for weighing in, Ben. Maybe I'll try ordering directly from PS next time.

I usually only order a few books from them a year and have had no issues. For example, my yearly Stephen King LE from them arrives fine. I don't order from them too often as I hate having to pay so much for shipping, let alone an option with tracking, as I am in the US. If you are looking for a place stateside, it really depends on the book. SubPress carries some of their titles and is always safe to order from. Camelot is great as well; however, with Kim's recent medical issues, their shipping times have increased a lot so you'll want to factor that into your purchase.

I’ve placed two sizable orders with them ( 8 - 10 books) on their last two Black Friday sales and had no issues.

As you said Amazon is a good source (and usually at a discounted price) if you are just looking for a trade hardcover or paperback.

Ziesings also carries most PS releases, though I’ve noticed a rather sever price markup in their UK listings recently.

I’ve placed several orders over the last year with various UK publishers (PS, Broken Binding, Black Crow), and so far, knock on wood, I haven’t had issues with any of them.

Thanks for the input, brlesh & sholloman. Amazon has worked out for my last few PS purchases (New Writings in Horror & The Supernatural Omnibus and New Writings...Vol. 3), since I was able to use gift cards and CC points to buy them (Getting them basically free is the only way to not be killed by my wife for "BWU"..Buying While Unemployed.), but they're sometimes iffy as far as actually getting the new PS titles in stock. I was buying the Midnight Movie Monographs series from Camelot for the past few years, but with Kim's recent issues, they seem to have stopped selling those titles, or putting them on the site so late that I already grabbed copies elsewhere. I'll probably try PS directly next time. Thanks all!

I've had no issues with PS, either. I don't order a great number books from them, but I'm probably at a half-dozen over the last few years, and all have arrived with no problems whatsoever. I wouldn't hesitate ordering direct from them. Obviously, Camelot is an easier way to go, but as mentioned by others their unfortunate difficulties have made ordering problematic...the last email I received seemed to indicate to me that they weren't doing any business until further notice, but they certainly may have changed, I don't know.

I've always ordered directly from PS, and the only parcel that ever had a problem was this one that showed up smooshed like someone ran over it. Amazingly, the book itself was perfectly fine.

                          You win.
That is THE worst mail mishap I've ever seen. The huge "FRAGILE DO NOT CRUSH" tape around it is just...chef's kiss.
