Good to know, thanks. I certainly hope that consensus proves correct.

There are a few copies of Needful Things with no slipcase available. Might be a good opportunity for someone looking.

Sort of like casebound trade editions with a dust jacket. Nothing fancy on the production side, but that's reflected in the cheaper prices.

Looks like Firestarter pre order is up.
PRE-ORDERS OPEN AT 4PM (GMT)!
If you cannot see the “add to cart” button (AT 4PM), select the quantity and press enter. This will add it to your shopping cart ready for checkout.
One-third of the print run will be available to pre-order at 4pm, another third at 8pm and the remaining copies at 12 midnight.
Due to the sheer volume of traffic and email requests that these launches generate, we've created a special email address which, hopefully, will catch all your messages.

I forgot about it so missed out on the first batch...may or may not grab one from the next two batches. I still haven't decided. I'm not a fan of the art style for this story, and at something close to $225 after conversion, it feels odd to purchase a deluxe version whose only fundamental addition to the UK 1st trade HC I have is, in fact, the art. That's the reasoned approach I'm trying to take...but as well all know reason doesn't always determine the outcome in book collecting.
EDIT: Well, I just happened to glance at my King collection, and it appears I don't have a copy of FIRESTARTER! The UK 1sts I was thinking of are CHRISTINE and PET SEMETARY. I don't in fact have any copy of that book, one of my more favorite titles from King. So this new PS edition just suddenly got a heckuva lot more attractive to me.Last edited by RonClinton; 05-09-2025, 06:03 PM.Twitter: https://twitter.com/ron_clinton

I like the artwork on this one but not the price point. For most of these new productions I am only a spectator. TBH, and it's not aligned with the market these days, I would only be a player at this price point for a new story or something a little more special on a reprinted edition for an SK title.
For any other authors, regardless of new or reprinted, I likely wouldn't even think about it.

I'm surprised to see copies of FIRESTARTER still (again?) remain for sale ("Add to Cart" button shows as active/live) as of Sunday morning at 10:30am MST. Guess sweating and scrambling through PS's order process wasn't necessary this time around, after all. Wow, if even King can't sell out a 1000-copy limited (and, yes, I know the price was high and I know the art was divisive, etc.) on day of offering, you know the market's gotten pretty flat.Twitter: https://twitter.com/ron_clinton
