I just wrote- and deleted a long post about a new, and (to my mind) exorbitantly priced book from another publisher (eh, who cares?!), deciding instead to tout the joyful positives of this one:

Look at the specs on this thing!:

-Signed by Stephen Graham Jones and Francois Vaillancourt on a specially designed full-colour illustrated signature page

    -544 pages
-Offset printed on 100gsm Munken Print Cream

    -Head and tail bands
-Featuring six full colour interior illustrations printed on a special silk art stock & tipped into the book

Thanks, Paul, for keeping my long book collecting journey from going off the rails.

SST is a bargain in today's collectible book world. Even with the increase in US postage costs, I'm still paying about $85 a book and they're easily worth double that (don't be getting any ideas Paul!)

Yeah, SST is hands down one of my TOP LE publishers to purchase books from as the combination of their prices and production values cannot be beat. I also enjoy the mix of authors they publish. I also like that Paul makes slipcases optional for his books as it does help keep costs down bigtime. Don't know how Paul continues to offer LE books at these prices when everyone else seems to be around double to triple the cost but am very happy that he has been able to maintain his pricing.

I agree. I have fallen behind on my SST purchases as of late--well, to be honest, beyond Centipede, I've fallen behind on purchases from every publisher--but I love SST. Paul's customer service is also top notch. I don't think I ever shared this publicly (and if I have, I'm sorry), so I will now.

About a year ago, I was avoiding writing an essay by staring at the books lining the shelves in my office. The shelf dedicated to SST caught my eye. I had purchased the Grady Hendrix bundle when it was first announced, but as I perused the shelf I only saw the first two titles, Horrorstor and My Best Friend's Exorcism. After searching around the house to see if maybe somehow I had misplaced the remaining two titles--We Sold Our Souls and The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires--to no avail, I decided to email Paul.

Through a quick back-and-forth, Paul confirmed the two books had been shipped but sent to a previous address. Like a novice, I had changed my address on the profile page of SST's site, but had not sent an email to Paul for outstanding orders. At this point, Paul would be absolutely in his right to give a polite "too bad, so sad" because the address mix-up was my fault and it had been an incredibly long time since both books were published. However, Paul, in a moment of absolute unprompted and unwarranted kindness, stated the two shipped books should be considered lost at this point and promptly sent me new copies of each title with my matching number free of charge. This completely blew my mind and he has since gained a customer for life.

So, yeah, I want to join in on beating the drum for what Paul is doing at SST!

Just wanted to chime in to agree with all of the good stuff folks are saying about Paul and his books. He's one of the good ones.
