There is one major drawback for me. I was planning on taking this to the coast next week and reading it while there. Unfortunately, I will not be able to read this copy due to the bright white paper. Reading bright white paper give me intense headaches at this point. Can anyone who buys from them regularly tell me if this is a norm with them?
I agree. The white paper didn't bother me, but I would prefer something a bit warmer in tone. I think providing feedback to the publisher may push them to change it for the next release. It definitely seems to be an unpopular choice.

These collectors editions are too expensive now to just shelve in favor of a reading copy (not that I ever really did that anyway; always read the nicest copy), and I really want to read this. Wonder what's up with the bright white paper lately, in this and wasn't it some of the early Midworld releases? Also hate the tiny fonts on a lot of books lately. As I said, these books are too damn expensive now to not be able to actually read pleasantly. Everybody wants to make books now but if you're going to charge in the $100- $200 range- for my $ now- it better be a damn near perfect reading experience.
It really is a beautiful production but after my last couple of attempts to read books with bright white pages I am no longer willing to even try. The good news is that I found this book is available on audio and my batch of 5 ARCs from Lividian is arriving early. My beach trip will now be listening to THE THIRD RULE OF TIME TRAVEL on the drive there and back and reading a LIvidian ARC, probably CARRIE'S LEGACY while there. All in all, it is working out!

I have provided my views on bright white paper to a couple of other publishers in the past, one did not respond, and one offered a refund. To be honest I actually want the publisher to produce the book they want, and I will make my decision. I asked the question on here because if this is the norm I will stop paying attention to the publisher. I really like all other aspects of the book so I will probably continue to pay attention but will inquire on a case-by-case basis.

From the little communication I've had with Alex Berman and Diana Petroff (sp? for both) they are nice people. I bet they would reply to any questions you have on upcoming editions.

Bright white paper is a problem for me as well. It makes these older eyes strain to read the print.

Okay, I finally opened my copy up, and while the paper is quite white, it's not -- to my eyes -- blindingly so, and I don't see an issue for my reading of it, though do get that it could be a problem for those with more sensitivities to the problem. I've seen worse (Stark House tpbs come to mind, if anyone is familiar with that imprint). I'm actually a bit more concerned that the paper stock is a bit thin, in that it's transparent enough to see a suggestion of text from the page beneath...it's not bookclub thin, but to have that issue at all, that's really something that shouldn't be evident in a costly limited.

Glad the paper will work for you. Bright enough that I will not try to read it. Funny thing is that I did not even look close enough to notice it was thin.
