    Phantasia Press

Has anyone purchased from Phatasia Press recently? Haven't purchased anything from them in years, but they just posted the pre-order link for the LE of Phillip Fracassi's "The Third Rule of Time Travel". Think I'm going to pull the trigger since I love me some Fracassi.

I've been buying from them since their triumphant return to the small press world and I'm loving having them back! It's going to be expensive to fill some of the gaps I have from their early days, though. Haha...

Very glad to hear that their relaunch is going well and that you are a customer. Makes me worry less about my purchase for sure! Funnily enough, I'm currently reading the Lividian LE of A Child Alone with Strangers.

Thanks for the head's up about this edition. I hadn't heard of it until your post. I'm this close to pulling the trigger, but the first of the month is tomorrow so I need to see how Thunderstorm's February announcements shake out for me.

Wow, thanks, Todd -- this link wasn't supposed to go live until tomorrow morning at 10am -- I had a reminder *and* an alarm set for it for tomorrow -- so I'm glad you posted about this early appearance. I'd like to think there would've still been copies tomorrow, since everyone was planning on tomorrow morning, but who knows....just glad I got my order in!

No problem at all. Much like yourself, I had my alarm set for tomorrow, but I just happened to look at the website today to satiate some of my excitement for the pre-order and happened to notice the live link. Glad you grabbed a copy too! -Steve

Very welcome! I was considering waiting for the Thunderstorm pre-orders too but decided to grab it now as I'm worried about an early sell-out tomorrow morning. Between this and the possible Thunderstorm books offerings, February is shaping up to potentially be a pricey book month for me.

Whoops, sorry -- was thinking of another member. My excitement about the link and that I snagged a copy got the best of me and I didn't pay close enough attention to your user name. I'm in your debt now so I won't make that mistake again!

On Fracassi's a Patreon he announced that it would be offered a day early for his Patreon numbers. Guessing they just chose to post it today without mention to allow for that.

I got the preorder link from Philip Fracassi, so I ordered it yesterday. You couldn't find it on the site except with that link at the time, but I think someone screwed up and let the order page go live a day early. It was supposed to be 12 noon EST on 2/1.

I ordered a few books from Phantasia in the past couple of years, and everything has been great.

I was browsing through their site earlier and ordered this: https://phantasiapress.com/products/...e-frontispiece

I've always loved the Odyssey books. I have the Amaranthine edition on order, and will get the CP edition later this year.

Congrats to all who purchased this. Great author, cool guy, and a wonderful publisher. This is a winning combination and shouldn't be missed.

Sadly, I am mostly out of the collecting game anymore and will be passing on this, but that doesn't diminish my enthusiasm for the release.
Looking for the fonting of youth.

Received THETHIRD RULE OF TIME TRAVEL today from Phantasia Press. Absolutely beautiful production with one exception. Slipcase, binding, dust jacket, endpapers, artwork and signature sheet are all fantastic. There is even enough room to add Brodart and not struggle taking in and out of the slipcase. There is one major drawback for me. I was planning on taking this to the coast next week and reading it while there. Unfortunately, I will not be able to read this copy due to the bright white paper. Reading bright white paper give me intense headaches at this point. Can anyone who buys from them regularly tell me if this is a norm with them?

That’s unfortunate…I haven’t opened my copy yet, but have a similar dislike of bright white paper. No idea if that’s the norm got them or not.

Brite White paper used to make my eyes hurt, now it gives me a bad headache so I just can't read them anymore. It really is a beautiful book though. Hoping this is not there normal paperstock.

That's a real bummer to hear. I was thinking about picking this up, but will probably pass now. These collectors editions are too expensive now to just shelve in favor of a reading copy (not that I ever really did that anyway; always read the nicest copy), and I really want to read this. Wonder what's up with the bright white paper lately, in this and wasn't it some of the early Midworld releases? Also hate the tiny fonts on a lot of books lately. As I said, these books are too damn expensive now to not be able to actually read pleasantly. Everybody wants to make books now but if you're going to charge in the $100- $200 range- for my $ now- it better be a damn near perfect reading experience.
