Thanks for the heads-up on these. My only hesitation is the thought that Sub Press may do a S/L of it as they did his other two. But since there are no announcements yet or guarantees of one, I’ll likely grab one of these signed trades, just to be safe.

VERY curious about this title! I absolutely loved The Martian, but it honestly set the bar a bit too high for Weir's next title. So when Artemis ended up being "noir in space", I couldn't help but feel disappointed.

Maybe I'm too critical though... :-/

I know I’m kind of in the minority, but I thought ARTEMIS was fairly good...not nearly as good as THE MARTIAN, admittedly, but a far better followup than, say, Ernest Cline’s ARMADA was to READY PLAYER ONE. I’m actually a little bit more concerned about this new one, because the plot seems rather similar to THE MARTIAN, so comparisons to that great debut work are inevitable.

I enjoyed ARTEMIS but there was simply no way it could hold up when compared to THE MARTIAN. My biggest complaint with the ARTEMIS is that it stuck to close to the formula of THE MARTIAN rather than finding its own voice. I have this one ordered but am still hoping for a Subterranean Press edition.

I love The Martian, but I kinda feel like it was a fluke. Especially if you look at it's origins.

I like how Branes and Noble does these. I bought a Martian from them signed during one of those black friday sales. I might grab one from them since I'm likely to buy a hardcover anyway.

No shortage of options to get a signed trade edition. Along with Books-A-Million and B&N (?), looks like he's doing a virtual tour, so you can pick one up from any of these "stops" (and get a free limited patch (while supplies last)):

I confirmed with SubPress yesterday that they are indeed producing a signed limited for this novel. Because of that, I will hold off on the trade edition and wait for the SubPress announcement. Don't have enough space on my shelves for multiple editions of the same book any longer and would prefer to allocate the $25-30 bucks that I would have spent on the trade toward the limited edition.

Excellent news, and with that confirmation, I’m going to hold off on a signed trade as well for the same reasons.

First on the reserve list from my library for this title.

And for something different a local bookstore that Mr. Clinton recently introduced me to is offering a patch with a pre-order (unsigned). Project Hail Mary – Books Around the Corner

Pretty cool. I think that link I offered above was offering those as well w/ signed copies. It'd be interesting to know how many of those were made (though more interesting to know when the Sub Press edition is going to go up for pre-order!).

Received my signed copy from Books A Million today. This is the second, and will probably be my last purchase from them. Shipped unprotected in what is basically a cardboard bag and the packer just dropped the book in. This resulted in the dust jacket sliding down causing the bottom portion of the dust jacket being crinkled. This will test Mr. Hocker's theory that the Martian was a fluke for the author. If this release is closer to Artemis I will probably walk away from the author as well.
