Another cool review for KIN (no spoilers):
"If you took the moral quandaries about revenge, justice and violence against evil from Dennis Lehane’s Patrick Kenzie novels, spread it over the sprawling cast of a Stephen King thriller, and mixed it with the Southern Gothic grotesques of Eudora Welty, you might end up with something like Kealan Patrick Burke’s new novel, Kin...an unflinching examination of the aftermath of atrocities, both foreign and domestic, rural and urban; it is a gripping portrayal of fully realized villains and flawed heroes; it is a treatise on the cycle of violence and on the bonds of family; and it is, ultimately, a novel about the redemptive power of defiance." - Litstack.com

I am into the book about 50 pages. I have two comments so far. 1. The story grabs you from the beginning, I immediately wanted to know what was next. 2. You said you wrote this in 2008. Since this story went a couple of years without being published I must assume other publishers passed on this before CD picked it up. I again want to thank CD and other small presses for allowing me to read great stories that the mainstream publishers do not see fit to publish.Originally posted by Kealan Patrick Burke View PostAnother cool review for KIN (no spoilers):

Just got notice today that an ARC is on the way courtesy of CD. Couldn't have come at a better time because I was seriously thinking of pulling the trigger on Kin after reading all the great reviews and comments. Can't wait to get my hands on this one.Searchers after horror haunt strange, far places. - H.P. Lovecraft
