I got a gift edition but wish I had opted for a S/L copy while it was available. I've seen people already selling copies of their preorders on ebay.

Is that the books that are artist specials. Or something else that I might have missed?

Some collectors did buy remarques from some or all of the artists for this edition. Vinny's were done in a cool, different want because we didn't think it was wise to ship 100 expensive books across the pond and back:

Should have been more clear when I wrote this. I know about the artist editions. I was asking Terri about the books she was talking about. The overlook SK books remarqued by GC. That series. One day I will spring for an artist edition but not at this time. Getting the signed and trade and gift edition of this one is fine for now.

I've heard there will be a book next year that contains the FULL version of "Before The Play" -- that issue of TV Guide only has some of it -- but that new book ould just be a rumor at this point.

The full version of "Before the Play" was published in the December 1982 issue of Whispers (#17-18). As far as I know, that was the only edition.

For those who are interested, our edition of Doctor Sleep is 534 pages before you count the 6 full color artwork tip-ins. Also, TWO of our color pieces will be "fold outs" if things go as we planned. We've never done one of these before that I know of, so we're working out the logistics with the printer.
