Kealan - I have to say, this was simply a fantastic short read. I might make my daughter read it. She is 14 and addicted to the whole online thing, and entering high school in September. I really loved this. I have to pick up some of your books in PB now.

Thanks TJ! And she might be the perfect audience for this story. It's certainly a cautionary tale and not nearly as far-fetched in today's technologically inclined society as I wish it were.Originally posted by TJCams View PostKealan - I have to say, this was simply a fantastic short read. You are very right, and in fact the timing is right on. She has had some issues with some kids at school thanks to Facebook.Originally posted by Kealan Patrick Burke View PostThanks TJ! Well, if you do decide to let her read it, you can preface it by telling her that I was inspired to write it by a news article about a forty-year old disabled man in Mexico who figured out how to hack people's webcams and watch them through them. He would then email them and refer to the things he had seen them do. It was creepy, and hard to believe it anything but an urban legend.Originally posted by TJCams View PostYou are very right, and in fact the timing is right on. Yeah, it really creeped me out. Plus I see fake profiles on FB all the time, primarily used either to help an author/artist promote his/herself, or to troll and bully people. After reading the article about the webcam guy, I decided to do my own take on the whole fake profile thing.Originally posted by TJCams View PostWow..... that's crazy. Thanks for the insight into what inspired that.
