What happened to the Seven Stories thread? Am I just not seeing the tree because of the forest?

It's more like the Tribe of Shelley-yikes.

Poor Shelley, poor, poor maligned Shelley

NB- Brian, I apologise for the Duvallisation of what is supposed to be your blog thread. My only excuse is that I appear to be yet another follower of the Tribe of Shelleyite

Absolutely, she was beautiful as Olive Oyl. No one could have done any better.

But Wendy? Good God. She was so stiff and distracting. There's a part in the movie where she's smoking a cigarette. I think Will Robinson's robot could have smoked that cigarette with more acting chops than she had. And that's while he's flailing his dryer-vent arms around screaming, Danger!Danger!

The line I always throw out about her performance is this: How stiff does someone have to be before we put them in the Smithsonian?

I didn't understand that casting, either. Wendy in the book is everything Shelley Duvall isn't, especially how she played Wendy in the movie. (But she did make the perfect Olive Oyl.)

I had the same problem with the casting of Tad in Cujo.
    Spoiler!

Wow. You really are a good writer because that would have taken some talent to clean those up.
