RTF=Rich Text Format. It is a basic text format, that holds the formatting, such as italics. It's almost on the verge of being an HTML email.

If you use word, you should be able to "save as" directly from there as an RTF. If not, there are several sites that offer free conversion, although I cannot vouch for any of them. Someone once told me gmail had a bunch of conversion tools, but I have never sought them out either.

Man I'm so techno illiterate. I need to find out how to send an attachment for an electronic submission to some of these markets and change all my story formats from .doc to .rtf files? WTF is .rtf? I was just typing and printing and saving, now I have to figure this submission process out. What's an old storyteller to do? Can I do this from Gmail?

There is a program for facebook that posts your shared posts straight to twitter. I use that typically, as I find twitter a tad confusing. Plus, there are often times when I get a message that their servers are too busy.

don't need to be pithy, just start following people or places that you dig, and just stop by every day or every other day to see what's going on, no biggie - i used to be a lot less low key about it, now i'm on there more - there are lots of ways like TweetDeck to peruse the feeds, but i just check it once in awhile

Thanks for the interest, Craig and Richard, but about three days after I joined Twitter last year (two years ago, maybe?) I realized I just wasn't pithy enough, and haven't posted since, then. If I get a phone that can do texts and twitter, I'll at least follow you fellas.

I am very happy that I entered this contest. Even though I had my head handed to me in my round, the new connections and feedback have been invaluable already. This is a great forum!

Goodreads is a place you review books, mostly, but it's also useful as a networking tool to help promote your books and get readers.

and thanks for following me! Following you both too
