Congrats, smoke! I've tried a few years and couldn't make it past the first week at the proper speed. (I edit myself too much as I write, and haven't broken the habit) I considered it this year, but I'm 3/4 into a novella that I'm trying to wrap up and didn't want the distraction of starting something new.
Finish it, and clean it up. You never know what you might make.

I always mean to do this every year, but November is by far the worst month for me to take on this amount of writing. Work is completely slammed with the lead up to the holidays season. Congrats on the achievement, smokedragon. That's no small feat!

NaNoWriMo 2015
Anyone else try this year? I did, and got to 50389. I got a winner's badge, and certificate. Of course I'm not done writing the draft. I think I'm two thirds done. So, I'm going to keep writing until it's done. It's not very good, and man is it difficult to sit down and write. And, oh, what a joy it would be to actually write something good. I'm writing it linear. I have gone chapter to chapter. Some lines are good, most are bad. But, hey, I'm enjoying myself.
Now, do I have the testes to finish it, and rewrite it, and try to turn a piece of shit into..., well, not gold, nor a diamond, maybe cubic zirconia?
Hats off to all those that do this for a living. I now officially bow down to my masters.
