Very cool. Will have to work on writing something longer. Awesome that it's all online too.

Just a couple questions!
Hi Brian! I'm very excited to submit something, but I wanted to know a couple other things.
What is your policy on simultaneous submissions? Also, would you accept something that we've previous published ourselves on Amazon?
Thank you!

It probably goes without saying, but please only submit your very best work. Be sure to have at least one person proofread your work for you. Two or more proofreaders would be smart. Typos, misspellings, and formatting mistakes are a quick and easy way to get rejected, unfortunately.
Thanks and good luck!
Best wishes,
Brian Freeman

Some questions I've been asked that I thought might be helpful here:
Q: Are the eBook submissions also being considered for the hardcover line?
A: Anything we read is being considered for print as well, but we have a very limited number of hardcover slots and our schedule is full through the beginning of 2014 right now, so it's really a matter of the right project at the right time.
Q: For fiction collections, do we send you the finished lineup as we see it, or a pool of short stories for you to select from?
A: For a collection, please submit the finished lineup as you see it in one manuscript file. Include the TOC and any previous publication credits for the story at the beginning.
Q: Will you still be re-opening the magazine to submissions?
A: We'll be opening the magazine to submissions next month. This is basically our trial run for the submission management software to make sure it works the way we hope!
Q: When will you be closing the eBook line to submissions?
A: Given the infinitely expandable nature of the eBook line, we expect to be open to submissions for as long as we're finding great books to publish. We might take some months off here or there to give our readers a break, but take your time and get happy with the work. No need to rush. This isn't a limited time offer.
Q: How long will the magazine be open to submissions when you reopen in December?
For the magazine, we'll be looking to buy about 20 stories and we'll remain open until we find them. Then we'll probably be closed for another year. I don't like having stories on file for as long as we did this last time. We bought WAY too many before we closed to submissions.

GREAT!!! I was going to submit my story called "Proper Manuscript Format" too and this guy basically took my story idea already! Back to the keyboard! LOL!!!Originally posted by Brian Freeman View PostThanks for asking! Word would be preferred and double-spaced is great. This example is for a short story, but it's a good general guidelines for your formatting:

Not yet for short stories. We should be ready in about 2 weeks, though!Originally posted by MrRoland View PostAre you accepting solo short story submissions at this time. If so, how do we go about submitting these? I keep checking, but I'm worried I may have overlooked this.

I have not submitted a lot of stories just a couple to other publications. I was wondering since I didn't see it in the guidelines what format do you want the submissions sent in. Pdf , microsoft word, and do you want it double spaced.
Thanks

Nope, no maximum -- fire away! The minimum is just to keep short stories out of the queue. Thanks!Originally posted by tdeady View PostMr. Freeman,
This is great news, I just completed the submission process. You mention the 10,000 word minimum - my horror novel is 146,000 words - is there a maximum?
Thanks!

Very exciting. Best of luck to everyone. I will only be shooting for the magazine right now, but would love to submit something larger in the future.
