For once us Aussies must be ahead of you. Watched the DVD yesterday as it has been released here for a couple of weeks. Had read the book first (courtesy of CD) and was a little underwhelmed by the film. Not sure what didn't quite work for me. Enjoyable nonetheless. The lead actress playing The Woman is excellent though.

Well, Most countries other than the US are more receptive to extreme films such as tise and there is a bigger market for them. But it is on demand, but the trailer I watched was full of blips and scratches, so I'm not going to try the film out. I'll wait for my BD."I'm a vegan. "

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!
Spoiler!I got the blu ray on a blind buy because I am a fan of Lucky McKee's work and I enjoyed Offspring. I really liked this film. When she was first captured I was thinking to myself "good, this chick kills and eats people, let's see some justice done" but as the movie went on I found myself turning in the complete opposite direction and thinking "please please get loose and kill this guy and his son!" I enjoyed the way the story was wrapped up. A couple lingering questions I had about it(which I hope the book will resolve or maybe somebody on here!) Was the father the baby daddy? He just acted entirely too weird around his daughter. Was this family cannibals themselves? Maybe I heard this line wrong(time for a second viewing!) but when the dogs and the dog human hybrid thing were killing the teacher it seems like the father said something along the lines of "oh that will give us some good meat to eat later" Perhaps he meant for the dogs.....I've got to say, the whole dog human was a surprise! Must have been a previous experiment of his.

The book made me realize that there was a lot of the movie I missed, I went back and watched it and saw a few things in there I missed. It wouldn't change my rating on it (2.5/5), but I see more in it now than before."I'm a vegan. "
