My pleasure! Love to hear your thoughts once you give it a watch.

Talk to Me. This was a solid horror film. Decent acting, had a little shock factor, and had a little Jacobs Ladder or Flatliners feel to some of it. The ending is what I think hurt this film for me. The ending wasn't a shock to me and didn't feel like a twist. It felt more like an inevitable outcome. I'm not sure what I was looking for but maybe it could have been executed in a different way or let me feel more emotion(s) towards the protagonist.

        Overall enjoyable.

Barbarian. I liked the first act a lot. It had suspense, decent dialogue, and a made you wonder what is going on. The rest of the movie was freaky but pretty generic.

I thought BARBARIAN was spectacular. Very different from the usual fare. I especially appreciated the trailers not giving anything away.

I've been on a movie-watching mission since it warmed up enough for me to be out in the sunroom. Believe it or not, we have only warmed up here in Upstate NY over the past few weeks.

I watched a new Jackie Chan movie, PANDA PLAN, which was just as weird and goofy as I expected. The "plot" finds Jackie, playing himself, attending the grand opening of a new zoo and adopting a baby panda, which has some rare markings that make it worth $100 million. Or course, a multinational mercenary crew arrive to kidnap the panda. Action and comedy ensue. I liked the humor, but Jackie is getting a little too old to do stunts, and he was a pale shadow of himself, action-wise. His charm and personality come through just fine, though. A little bit of light fun, but I can't really recommend it.

After YEARS of fruitlessly searching the streaming channels for anything related to THE BENNY HILL SHOW, Amazon just added THE BEST OF THE BENNY HILL SHOW, which most certainly was NOT the best. I barely chuckled once. Not only was I disappointed, but now I'm questioning: WAS Benny Hill as funny as I remember from my childhood? I'll probably never know, since he seems to have largely been forgotten in the streaming age.

One the non-movie front, I started watching the second season of ANDOR last night, and wow, did I forget or block out how boring and glacially-paced this show was? And the last season was THREE YEARS AGO..? I have no recollection of what is going on. How can people keep track of things with these long breaks between seasons? I'm a completist, so now I feel compelled to watch the last ten (!!!) episodes, but it'd better pick up soon. The last season dragged until almost the end.....

dannyboy121070 I remember laughing and laughing at Benny Hill as a kid. I was able to watch a little somewhere not that long ago and it didn't do much for me either.

Saw Dangerous Animals the other night, which was, at best, an OK movie.

A serial killer feeds his victims to sharks, as he records their deaths and keeps as a collection of VHS tapes.

Should have been more fun than it was.

The filmmakers tried to play it too seriously, where I felt it would have benefited at a little more tongue-in-cheek.

Jai Courtney was good as the eco-serial killer, but the lead actress couldn’t pull off the tough girl / bad ass they tried to make her out to be (though there is a scene with her thumb which made me in equal parts squirm and laugh out loud).

And not really a shark movie (though there are a couple of shark kills). Dangerous Animals is much more of a girl kidnapped and held hostage by a serial killer. Jai Courtney has one definite scene of homage to the Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs that left me grinning.

Overall, Dangerous Animals wasn’t bad, but could have been so much better.

Man, Barbarian did not work for me at all. I mean, like you, I really thought the first act was cranking, but by the end, it felt like the director/writers just lost control of the tone and it slid into ridiculousness. I know I'm in the minority on this one, and I surely don't begrudge anyone for loving the film, but it just was not my jam.

I'm glad you found it to be a decent watch. I don't think it's a perfect film--if I remember correctly the film's mythology is a little shakey and I agree the ending isn't my favorite--but I thought it was pretty darn creepy and wound up enjoying myself quite a bit. Looking forward to seeing their new film.

I completely agree with you on Barbarian.

Really liked the first half, but didn’t care for the second half at all. It just felt like a completely different movie.

And the last 15 to 20 minutes was nothing more than a rehash of every Friday the 13th movie you’ve ever saw.

                            It's What's Inside.

Not a bad little film. Characters were all obnoxious, plot was interesting enough, however I don't know if it's my age, or what, but I don't get surprised often by plots. This one was not an exception.

That being said I enjoyed this, thought it moved along briskly, and had a mean spirited ending which I liked.

Saw Sinners the other night, which I liked quite a bit.

Stylistically and format-wise, it was very similar to From Dusk til Dawn, and fans of the early movie will probably like Sinners.

Visually the movie is stunning, and for the most part well acted.

Michael B Jordan is great in the lead role (I would go so far as to say it’s worth seeing Sinners just to see him in dual role of the twin brothers Smoke / Stack). He was incredible.

Jack O’Connel was also very good as the lead vampire.

Is Sinners a great vampire movie? Probably not, as it is certainly style over substance (also an argument you could make about From Dusk til Dawn).

But, IMO, it is well worth the viewing time.
