Most of the reviews have been positive, hence my high expectations going into the movie.

I have only seen a few reviews but they all have been absolutely brutal.

Went to see Firestarter in the theater the other night.

It was bad. The acting was mostly wooden ( this was the first thing I’ve seen Zac Ephron in, & I wasn’t impressed).

The actress that played the mother was better, though her character had much less screen time.

    The special effects weren’t good.

Several scenes were ( unintentionally) laugh out loud funny.

The most interesting character was the assassin. I wish his character had gotten more development & screen time, though I still don’t know if I completely buy into his character’s evolution at the end of the movie.

Overall assessment: wait to catch this one on the SyFy channel one Saturday night.

You are a braver man than I. The trailer did not do this movie any favors and, to be honest, I think this is the King property that I'm the least interested in. This story may have been cutting edge when it was first written, but I feel that we've seen this similar story told so many times. Granted, I've never read the book so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing out on.

    Thanks!

I don’t know if it made it into the movie or not, but there’s one scene in the novel I will never forget for the rest of my life.

Similar to the ending of Ketchum’s Girl Next Door, you kind of see what’s coming next, & that only makes it all the worse.

    Very impactful!

Peacock comes with my cable subscription but everything I have heard about this has me leery. I may run it in the background when I am doing things around the house at some point.
