There’s more coming out in 2024 than I was aware of.

Two I would add to the list (and not certain on the release dates) are:

Man, you just made my day! I had no idea that the Cutter book was coming out and am a big fan of the author. Looks like the books is released August 27, 2024. Just added it to my pre-order list. Now if I could just track down a hardcover copy of Cutter's "The Acolyte somewhere I'd be a happy camper!

In terms of the Malfi, I personally would pass unless it gets rave reviews. I've read a handful of his novels and just haven't been able to connect with them which makes me wonder if I ever will. Perhaps his style just isn't for me. It's kind of how I feel about Ramsey Campbell's stuff. The guys a freaking Grandmaster but for some reason his books always leave me flat. The writing is perfectly fine, they're just always missing that certain something that would push his stuff to "must read" for me, and I always feel a little guilty, like it must be a me thing.

Below is my list (so far) of books being released in 2024 as trade hardcovers that I'm interested in pre-ordering. I'm guessing that at least a few of these may get the limited treatment as well. If anyone knows of anything especially cool that should be on my radar, I would love to hear about it!

Me too. I was tempted but didn't pull the trigger on anything.

I did not score any Grab Bags, Sales or Scratch and Dents this year. Part of that is from being selective, I really didn't see anything I wanted. We'll see what the New Year brings. Happy Jólabókaflóðið to all my Bookish Friends!

I ventured over there to sell a few items and it's really it's not worth my time. One book I cleared around $10.00 and the other $24.00 in profit.

Better than yard sale profit but really not worth the hassle IMO.

If I didn't already have recycled packing supplies that $34.00 profit would have been reduced even more.

Yeah, this is exactly why I keep all my boxes and packaging from orders.

My experience is that the only profit to be had is if a book skyrockets in price. It’s not just the fee percentage, but how eBay eBay implements their fees that make it difficult. They charge their fee on the total final price of the item including shipping and sales tax, which, frankly, I think is excessive; I get the shipping due to possible manipulation of the system by charging a lower item price and then charging excessively for shipping and handling to make up fee-less profit, but the sales tax is rather brutal on the seller in my opinion. I get that they are taking care of getting the sales tax in the right hands for the seller, but it still… The hobby seller just doesn’t have the margin or sales volume to really make any money.
