Happy New Year! Read, Raked leaves, finally done, played Work of Tanks. My wife made us a great Salmon dinner, all and all a nice 1st day of the year. Hope everyone else has a nice start as well.

My New Years Eve - worked until 11AM, grabbed a couple last minute goodies once I got home. Daughter had 2 of her buddies over for a sleepover (Yep...3 16 year old girls!). They were well behaved.....
Ordered a pizza for supper - watched Canada beat the USA (again!
) in the World Jr. Hockey tournament, then watched Toronto beat Boston in NHL hockey.....indulged in some adult beverages and turned on whatever channel it was to watch the ball drop. Actually slept in New Years Day for a change!!!!!
Here we are Jan 2 - and no book purchases......yet.Comment

So, Centipede just put The Shaft up for preorder ($85) and Subterranean had the new McCammon horror novel posted on their site ($125 for the limited, $300 for the lettered). I think I might have to buy both books. 2015 is already an expensive year.Comment

Kanye West is a rapper whose most famous acheivement is having a child with Kim Kardashian. He and Sir Paul released an internet duet and KW's fans went gaga over it. I rent an apartment, and the mailbox is not conducive to magazines. I really hate it when the mailman folds my magazines and stuffs them in there; now CD #72 has a permanent crease and scratches on the cover. Grrr. What's really annoying is the door is two inches away from the mailbox; it would take five more seconds to open the door and toss magazines by my door.Comment

Marduk I live in an apartment as well. I don't know if this would work in your circumstances but I feel it helped me to make sure I was home for a delivery by my regular carrier. When I received my box I thanked him warmly for all of the packages he delivers for me and told him I know I'm putting more strain on him than the other residents in this small building. I shoved a $20 bill into his hand, which he tried to refuse but I wouldn't let him. I thanked him again sincerely and have never had an issue unless it's another person that delivers. Sometimes I think I get a little special treatment as well, and we're always personable with each other whenever we cross paths.
