The Twelve by Justin Cronin -- what are your questions?

Hey gang!

I'm going to send Justin some of the most frequently asked questions about The Twelve, the sequel to The Passage. I have a folder of emails I've gotten from customers over the last year, but I was wondering if you guys and gals had any you wanted to throw into the mix? Thanks!

I didn't even know it was out! Are you guys doing a limited edition?

Delivery date is "sometime in 2012" -- we don't have any information beyond that right now. We will be doing a Limited Edition and customers who ordered The Passage (and whose contact information is still up-to-date) will receive advance notification so they can get matching numbers.

I don't think it's actually out yet.

Here is something he said in an interview:

The next two books each go back to Year Zero at the outset, to reset the story, and todeal with something you didn’t see and didn’t know was as important as it was. It’s not a linear quest story, which I would find dull and plodding. With each book, you need to have the narrative terms reestablished with fresh elements. Also, if you didn’t see [a character] die, they’re not necessarily dead. There’s a big cast in the first book, and plenty of unresolved stuff. I will resolve it by the end. [Early vampire character] Anthony Carter? No, not abandoning him.

In second book, you go back to what happened in Denver after the outbreak took place. The story will resume in that location a few days after breakout. So you can see another angle on what occurred and certain elements will affect our band of heroes 100 years in the future. It will be called The Twelve – and it’s not who you think.

Awesome! What if we got out copy off of something like eBay? I'm finishing up reading The Passage now (taken me forever, but only because I have so many things going on)

I haven't read the first yet. I'll only tackle a trilogy after completion!

That is what I was planning to do, but the book just kept tempting me, lol. That is what I am doing with the Stain Trilogy though

Same here. I'm doing this with any trilogy - quadrilogy- etc. If I won't, I'll have to re-read everything-that-came-before.

I swear I haven't re-read the entire 14 book series every time a new Wheel of Time book came out.....

I have the CD edition of The Passage but have not read it yet. I will probably get to it over the winter.

I loved THE PASSAGE and I'm really looking forward to reading THE TWELVE... and obtaining CD's signed limited edition of the sequel!

Lucky you!
Upon release I read the first book. When the sequel was released, I read that one, plus the first again.
Then I found out this would turn into a huge series, so I quit reading, just bought the books and put them unread on my shelves.
Till about two years ago. I read the first four, five books...and gave up on this series.

Now all they do is take up quite a bit of space...
