Converting video files to ISO file I can burn to DVD and watch in dvd player

Does anyone have a suggestion for software to take MP4 or other common Windows video files and combine them into an ISO file that when burned to a DVD will make a playable DVD playing one video file after the other as separate chapters? I tried PowerISO, but the "ISO" file it makes acts like a big zip file and when it is burned to a DVD is not a playable DVD.

I have that program, so I tried it and the results are the same as the other program. I must be doing something wrong. When it burns it to the DVD, it is basically just copying the files, not making a DVD that will play in a dvd player.

I’ve never had to do that.

There seems to be a plethora of softwares but none I’ve had to use. Sorry.

I have always used Imgburn, although it's a long time since I burned one (just stream to tv now).

But before you do that, you need to convert your mp4 file to VOB files - These are the files DVD players need, and they need to be in a folder on the disc called VIDEO_TS.

Try using Handbrake (free) to do that. Here's a tutorial:

If you want menus, chapters etc. you will need DVD authoring software. I don;t have a recommendation but there are free ones out there. Google DVD Authoring...

You have to have DVD Authoring software to make a DVD like you're talking about. It's not just a matter of converting the MP4 files to MPEG-2 VOB files: there are limits on the sizes of those (1 GB, approximately), there are other files to provide the menus, etc. TMPEGEnc DVD Authoring Works is my preferred authoring program, but it's not free. There are free options out there, but they're not very easy to use, IMO (unless there's a newer option I don't know about, which is possible).

Any modern player can play a disc containing MP4 files, but I don't know of one that will autoplay all of the videos.

It took me a while to remember what software I used to create the image before using imgburn to create the disc. It was https://www.dvdfab.cn/

I used to use a free version, which did everything I needed at the time, but it's been at least seven years since I used it, so things may have changed.
