Name of this short story and the anthology it appeared it????

The setting is a post-apocalyptic world living through a nuclear winter, and there is a man and woman living together in a fall-out shelter. There is a vampire protecting the man and the woman from other vampires in an effort to repopulate the world with human beings so that the Vampire race doesn't starve to death. He protects them from a variety of dangers including other vampires. The story is told from the perspective of the vampire.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

It sounds vaguely like the movie Daybreakers (only vaguely though). But I have no idea to be honest. Just thought I would throw that out there.
