    RIP Spock (Leonard Nimoy)

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/27/ar...t-83.html?_r=1

    A legend has left us.

I watched Star Trek every Saturday night as a kid growing up with my Trekkie Dad. Was always on TV before Hockey Night in Canada at my Dad's place.

Sad news, the passing of an icon. My meeting him was one of the coolest moments of my life.

To any strategy gamers out there, his work in Civilization 4 was beyond outstanding. To hear hundreds of the greatest quotes of our world immortalized by Nimoy's gravitas as the civilization you built rises or falls isn't just a treat, it's a special moment in time you won't forget.

Edit: I found this pic touching. Wanted to make sure you guys saw it.

He will be sorely missed. I grew up watching Star Trek, and my favourite character from the original series was always Spock. Another great role for him was his Dr. David Kibner in the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the half glove was hilarious. RIP.

A moving tribute to Spock by Captain James T. Kirk at the end of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan:

"Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human."

RIP Leonard Nimoy, the greatest Vulcan of them all.

I was dropping that quote all yesterday, one of my favourites, and so apt for the character, and from what I understand from people that met him, the Nimoy himself too. I highly regret missing my chance to meet him and get his signature a few years ago at the local comic con. Still cool to see him in person though, even if it was from afar.
