    Has anyone read Mervyn Peake - The Gormenghast books??

    Any thoughts?

    Ever since I watched the BBC series (have you seen it - absolutely stunning!) the books are on my to-read list.
    Never got around to actually reading them.
    I'd love a CD limited. Well, two limiteds.

    Oops - it's a trilogy? Three limiteds!!

      Read the first book in high school, I can honestly hardly remember a thing other than it being the most dense book I'd read at the time. Interesting characters and premise if I recall correctly, just the language is very formal. Also I think it pretty much all takes place in the castle Gormenghast itself, or at least the first book. Always meant to finish the trilogy, though at this point I'd have to start over.

        He's on my TBR also. I have read a book of art by Peake that Michael Moorcock (one of my favorite authors) wrote stories for called The Sunday Books
