          2014 was my best reading year that I can remember. Some classic re-reads plus some new-to-me authors.

          In no particular order:

          Ghost Story, Peter Straub
          The House Next Door, Anne Rivers Siddons
          The Haunted Book, Jeremy Dyson
          The Nightwalker, Thomas Tessier
          The Elementals, Michael McDowell
          Needing Ghosts, Ramsey Campbell

          And, some short stories that really stood out:

          Peep, Ramsey Campbell
          The Forbidden, Clive Barker
          The Trains, Robert Aickman
          Various 'Oxrun Station' stories, Charles Grant

            Some of my favorite books that I have read last year.

            Revival
            Zombie Love
            Dead Gods ( short story) one of the best pieces of fiction I read in a long time. It's by James A. Moore and is in the winemakers anthology.
            Memory Tree
            Horns
            Primitive

                Very interesting topic. I didn't read too much last year, but I would like to point out a book I read the previous year (or maybe the year before that?) -- His Father's Son by B. Little. I thought that was really good (wish the ending had been different, though).

                I am intrigued by the concept of The Mailman. I will try to read that at some point. I take it that it comes highly recommended since it is mentioned here?

                    Unfortunately 2014 was not a good year for me reading wise.

                    The top books I was able to get through were:
                    * Revival by Stephen King
                    * Dinner with the Cannibal Sisters by Douglas Clegg
                    * The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle: The Deep Dark Below by Patrick Rothfuss
                    * The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle: The Thing Beneath The Bed by Patrick Rothfuss
