    It's a one-time charge.

I waited a few days, and..no book. (Obviously I was never given a shipping confirmation or tracking number.) I reached out AGAIN, and he replied that he was "just fucking with me", and didn't like being nagged about when books will arrive. (I already waited weeks to ask, because he said in his newsletter that if you bother him about when your book will ship, he'd hold it back out of spite.) I replied AGAIN asking about my books, and he told me that he had just found my box, which had "slipped under the seat of his truck" weeks ago when he drove to the Post Office. No apology, no "My bad", nothing. And the book STILL took a few more weeks to arrive. Guy is just a total prick, and it really explains why none of the booksellers that I reached out to carry his books.
Yowser! I'm in the same boat as you in that I will never order direct from Haffner again. I eventually got my books but felt like my communications were completely ignored and many of the responses were snarky. Considering how long the wait was with no real info provided, it definitely rubbed me the wrong way.

Well that is concerning. No need for business owners to be snarky.

I've found that matter of fact replies work best for tough situations.

Some people know me just because I've been around so long. I was a long time Shocklines member and also frequented The Red Light District where the lovely Cat kept us all in line. I've been reading horror all my life and used to spend Saturdays in the Passaic Book Center which was a treasure trove of used and new comics and books. It was unbelievable. By the time I got to Shocklines it wasn't long before I figured out that if I were going to collect books I'd better learn all about the process. Met some really fine people on the various boards that I'd frequented, even on the ones that let me know that my presence was no longer necessary, due to my tendency of speaking before thinking. There are lots of folks who I kind of miss seeing their posts, here and there. Anyway there's not much more other than I pop in from time to time, and I still miss Tyree.

I check in just about every day. Only post sparingly. During the Covid lockdown I was still able to work and when I got home from work I got busy with family stuff as social media became more polarizing and disgusting I moved away from it. Seemed to happen with my time in the forum. Not the polarizing thing just wasn’t on line as much. But like I said I do check in every day now. Probably didn’t check in a t one time for over 6 months. I used to be very active over here. Still collecting but not as much

Keep collecting, enjoying the hobby, and immersing yourself in things that make you feel good. I 100% understand about the social media stuff. It can be unsettling and really isn't great for the soul.

Thanks for checking in and keeping this a positive community. :-)
