For the John Ostrander fans here...DC recently published SUICIDE SQUAD: TRIAL BY FIRE under their DC FINEST imprint, which collects the first 10 issues of the SUICIDE SQUAD series, and 14 related comics, all written by John Ostrander. Looks like the issues have also been restored and recolored, as well.

So I did eventually decide to pass on the new Suicide Squad TPB. In lieu of that, though, I wound up picking up the entirety of Ostrander's Suicide Squad in original floppies off eBay for $20 plus shipping! It was a heckuva a price considering it contained the first appearance of Oracle (in #23 in name and #38 in person) and everything.
