Just saw this today on a B&N promo e-mail:

Eruption by Michael Crichton & James Patterson

Apparently it was started by Crichton after Jurassic Park, but never finished.

It’s been 20 years since I’ve read anything by Crichton, and I don’t think I’ve ever read anything by Patterson, but this definitely sounds interesting.

Any one else interested in this?

Patterson is one of those hacks who farms their work out to other authors and slaps his name on the cover, so I'll avoid this like the plague.

Hard pass for me, Patterson writes for people who don't read, as far as I can see. I last tried one of his books around twenty years ago when a coworker said I should read it. I got through it in forty minutes while eating lunch, and said never again.

Shame on me but I don't like Crichton at all, and like others have stated, Patterson is basically a dud for me. His work (or whoever is the real writer) is all fluff and no substance.
