eBay fee percentage just went up to 14.35% for books...

Yeah, what happened there? I was surprised to see this news a couple days ago...as far as I knew, they were still one outfit. I take it eBay sold PayPal (or vice versa)?

Yeah ebay sold Paypal.....It has totally screwed up bundling items to reach $100.00 for 0% interest.

Okay, maybe it's not as onerous as I thought...it appears PayPal will no longer be involved in payments, so there is no longer a 3% add'l fee. Instead, eBay is handling all payments, and the percentage fee is subtracted immediately, and the funds are deposited directly into your bank account (no more PayPal balance harbor). So instead of 10% or 12% + 3% PayPal, it's just a straight 14.35%...or essentially no difference. Sorry for the confusion. More info:

I've never tried to sell books via FB marketplace. I figured there wasn't really a market out there for the crazed collector thing. Might need to test the waters as I'm also trying to get my library together and need to get rid of a lot of fluff.

No idea, but that’s an excellent question. My assumption is no, since eBay was explicit that it was just a single flat fee now...but not sure. Maybe eBay pays the PayPal fee behind the scenes...?

In my opinion, you don't have to worry about that because almost every online platform working in this field raised the fee percentage.

Who knows the reason why they did increase the fee just for books? I've just noticed it. I usually sell my old books and textbooks. It helps me when I need some extra cash. Besides, it helps to save some free space in my house, from the dust collecting stuff. When I sold my last pack of books, I've noticed that I've received less money than I expected. I didn't get or see any notifications about the fees charged. I thought for some reason that someone had stolen my money somehow.
Luckily, my friend told me about https://covery.ai/products/kyc, and I could track later that I pay an extra fee for some sales.
