I like to pick up old isues of some of the bygone magazines like Deathrealm, Twilight Zone Magazine, Terminal Fright, et al. One title in particular, Night Cry was a favorite of mine. I've found someone selling Issue #1 signed by john Skipp and Ramsey Campbell. I know getting autographed anything off eBay can be iffy. What has me really guessing about this is that the same seller has 2 identically signed copies for auction and they end 3 days apart. They're not asking way too much for issue one, all things considered. The seller has 100% positive feedback. I'm just wondering what others more versed in buying hard to find books/magazines think about the authenticity of the "signed" aspects of these items.

I think the more suspect ones would be for signatures by Stephen King, Koontz, etc. I can't see people going to a while lot of trouble to forge a lesser-known author's sig on a mag. It doesn't really increase the value all that much in my experience unless it is somebody pretty big in the horror or SF worlds.
Worst case, it should be easy enough to compare signatures if you look around a bit online. Most small press authors have done, and do signed limited books that somebody is bound to have scanned the sig page for.
