Off-topic, but curious. Is there a setting that allows you to automatically subscribe to any topic that you reply to? Or do you have to manually subscribe to each?

Finally finished editing it down and am at 9,996 characters. Going to give it one last read before submitting it though, which will probably happen after I wake up tomorrow so I can step away from it for a little while first.

Well, I got mine finished and posted in time. I surprised myself since I tend to stretch out everything that I write. When I first read the submission guidelines, I misread and thought it said a 10,000 word limit and wondered how Dan could consider that to be a short, short story. Then I realized it was characters and thought I had no chance of writing something that small. Good luck to everyone.
