If you don't mind me asking, how do you get these things? I mean, I imagine you have to buy older stuff, but do publishers like CD, knowing you collect proofs and ARCs, send them your way from time to time?

I picture John going down lots of dark creepy alleys and meeting strangers with long trench coats with ARCs and such stuck to the inside of said trench coat.

I have developed some contacts that are able to supply me with the new proofs. Otherwise, I'm known pretty much as the "proof guy" so I get offers occasionally from other collectors. I also haunt eBay, ABE, etc. for items.
